OBO HALL OF FAME
Since our founding in 2016, Operation Black Out Dance Club has come a long way thanks to the hard work of our past leaders. They have gone above and beyond to provide our members with the best services possible, ranging from quality performance to engaging classes and activities. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and commitment to making OBO the great place it is today. Here are some of past leaders that have gotten us to where we are today.
Anasha founded OBO in the Spring of 2016. She started dancing her junior year of high school and continued her studies in college. After college, she moved to LA to dance.

I founded OBO my freshman year of college in the spring semester of 2016 and was president until I graduated in 2019. To me, OBO means more than just dance. It means community, connectedness, support, and a safe place where everyone can be themselves. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the initial stages of OBO from our first audition, Air Jam performance, and events to seeing it evolve into what it is today. ~ Anasha
Adrian became president in 2019 and led the club during her senior year. She has been dancing for 20 years, continuing dance in her adult life.
"OBO helped me get out of my comfort zone when it came to talking to people and making friends. It helped me realize dance is more than just being able to do amazing tricks and advanced choreo. OBO brought all different kinds of people at different dance levels and we shared one coming thing, our love for dance. Good memories I have are just the team bonding we’d have and do find games, hang out with each other, and get to know each other on a deeper level. ~ Adrian
Kasey was the president in 2020, the covid year, where she kept OBO alive and well during this tough year.
Hannah was the president in 2021. She was also previously the VP and the secretary. She started dancing in middle school through show choir,

Being a part of OBO meant everything to me. It’s where I made some of my very best friends, where I was able to destress, where I could continue learning & growing not only as a dancer but as a person and a leader too. I also always loved and celebrated the fact that we were a club open to anyone as well. I think that having a space on campus that was welcoming to anyone with a passion for dance was (and is) really important.
I have so many fond memories from my time in OBO but one of my favorites was Air Jam my senior year. I had participated in Air Jam every year, but being in charge of coming up with the theme, picking songs, creating choreography and formations, and putting everything together led to a much different experience. It was honestly pretty difficult and stressful in the weeks leading up to the event but performing and seeing everything come together was SO rewarding!
Another reason that I loved OBO so much- it gave me the opportunity to start pursuing dance more seriously, learn technique, and even go on to create myself by choreographing! ~ Hannah
Leah served this club as the treasurer, vice president, and president. She has been dancing since she was 5 years old

I was president in Spring 2023. This club gave me an outlet to continue dancing in college and it gave me an amazing community of people. Being on exec also gave me new leadership skills and confidence that I will carry throughout the rest of college and into the future. My favorite memory in OBO was air jam. Getting to perform in front of a huge crowd again was such an exciting experience that I had missed so dearly." ~ Leah
